Stephen Hoopes

Stephen Hoopes is a Bates Consulting Expert and an Investment Banker with over 30 years’ experience in municipal and corporate finance. Mr. Hoopes has extensive experience in Fixed Income capital markets, including Municipal Securities, Corporate Securities, Investment Advisory, and Investment Management.  He is knowledgeable with respect to Fixed Income securities, Investment Advisory and Investment Management standards and practices, Private Placements, Fiduciary Duties/Responsibilities and Suitability standards.

Most recently he served as a Partner in a boutique investment banking firm where he served as head of Municipal Finance and Compliance. Prior to that, Mr. Hoopes spent 15 years with Mesirow Financial in Chicago as Head of Public Finance. He managed a team of 19 bankers and support staff while also serving as lead banker on over $30 Billion in municipal financings. Mr. Hoopes has served as either Banker or Municipal Advisor on over $40 Billion in financings on behalf of municipal clients across the country. He has also sourced funding for over One Billion dollars in corporate client projects.
