Bradley “Brad” Goldfarb is a Bates Consulting Expert who started his career as a financial advisor in 1985 in Cedarhurst, New York. In 1993 he relocated to Boca Raton, Florida with his family. A pioneer in developing a fee-based practice, he began using professional money managers in 1989 and in 1996 earned the coveted CIMA designation (Certified Investment Management Analyst) through the Investments & Wealth Institute (previously known as the Investment Management Consultants Association or IMCA) and taught in conjunction with the Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania. In 2009 he was approved by his firm to be a discretionary money manager using the 5 model portfolios he developed. His portfolios consisted entirely of ETFs and were based on Modern Portfolio Theory principles. Throughout his career, Brad worked at some of the most respected Wall Street firms. He appeared numerous times throughout his career on radio and television and lectured within the firms he worked on the merits of professional money management on a fee basis. In 2005, he was awarded a U.S. Trademark for his investment management process, Multidimensional Asset Planning (MAP), and in 2018 he completed the necessary coursework to be a non-public arbitrator for FINRA.
After 35 years as a successful financial advisor and mentor to many new advisors, Brad retired on March 1, 2020. Later that year, he published his first book, “You’re Kidding, Right?” based on behavioral finance and why investors lose money by relying on emotional decisions. In 2021 his book was awarded a Bronze Medal by the Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Contest in the Non-Fiction, Retirement category. The Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Contest featured thousands of contestants from over a dozen countries.
